Pendal’s Australian property team — part of our Australian Equity boutique — bases its investment research on a strong valuation framework to fit an increasingly complex property investment environment.
The team is led by Pete Davidson and Julia Forrest.
Pete is our head of listed property. Over more than 30 years he has held financial markets roles spanning portfolio management, advisory and treasury markets.
Julia has managed Pendal’s property trust portfolios for more than a decade. She has 25 years of experience spanning equities research and advisory, initial public offerings and capital raisings.
Pete and Julia use a range of proprietary valuation methodologies, supplemented by third-party research, a program of company visits, property inspections and macroeconomic analysis.
The Pendal Property Securities Fund invests primarily in Australian listed property-related investments including listed property trusts, developers and infrastructure investments, both directly and indirectly.
Up to 15 per cent of the fund can be invested in international listed property-related investments and up to 5 per cent may also be invested in unlisted property securities.
The fund aims to exceed the return (before fees, costs and taxes) of the S&P/ASX 300 A-REIT (Sector) (TR) index over the medium-to-long term.
