Michael joined Pendal Group in August 2017 and leads the Multi-Asset Investments team. Michael has over 21 years’ investment management and consulting experience and joined Pendal from First State Super, where he was Head of Investment Strategy since January 2014. In this role, Michael was responsible for the establishment of an active asset allocation process and led the Fund’s Investment Strategy Team. Prior to this appointment, Michael was Head of Diversified Strategies at Perpetual for over five years, with portfolio management responsibilities for the manager’s range of diversified funds. Michael’s prior experience includes over 10 years in consulting roles at Watson Wyatt (now Willis Towers Watson) and NSP Buck.
Michael is a qualified actuary and holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Queensland.

Stuart joined Pendal Group in November 2009 as portfolio manager for the company’s diversified funds. Stuart has day-to-day responsibility for the monitoring and management of all portfolios within the Multi Asset team. He is also responsible for the research and implementation of both strategic and tactical asset allocation (SAA and TAA) and enhancing all aspects of the investment processes utilised by the team. Stuart’s expertise includes portfolio construction, risk analysis, development and implementation systematic investment strategies and building bespoke tools to assist with portfolio construction and management processes.
Stuart previously worked in London for the UBS Delta team (formerly known as CreditDelta) in an implemented quantitative finance role. This involved working with clients across Europe and Asia on a diverse range of projects such as portfolio transition, liability driven investing, portfolio risk management, beta replication, alpha transfer and analysis of structured credit derivatives. In 2006 he moved back to Sydney to represent UBS Delta in Australia and strengthen the coverage of UBS Delta clients across the APAC region. Stuart also has more than a decade’s experience of trading and broking in a broad range of asset classes and financial instruments.
Stuart holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Actuarial Studies) from Macquarie University.

Alan joined Pendal Group in February 2017, with extensive investment management and consulting experience. Prior to joining the company, Alan was Senior Manager, Model Portfolios and Risk Research at TCorp, with responsibility for portfolio management of over $40 billion in defined benefit and insurance multi-asset portfolios, developing TCorp’s strategic and dynamic asset allocation processes covering $80 billion in assets, and liquid alternative manager research.
Alan’s prior experience includes six years at AMP Capital in portfolio management and quantitative analysis roles. His most recent role at AMP Capital was a Portfolio Manager/Analyst within the quantitative equites team running and developing the quantitative process across Australian and Asian equities in long only and long/short form. Alan joined AMP Capital as a Quantitative Risk Analyst within the Investment Risk Team that worked to tailor and develop bespoke risk models and analytics for the various internal investment teams, as well as whole of business investment risk analysis. Alan started his career at Mercer Investment Consulting, where he was an investment consultant to some of the largest institutional clients in Australia providing investment advice as well as being actively involved in strategic and manager research functions.
Alan has a Masters of Quantitative Finance, Bachelor of Business (Finance) and Bachelor of Science (Applied Physics) from the University of Technology, Sydney, a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment from FINSIA, and is a CFA Charterholder.

Alan PolleyPortfolio Manager
Rita joined Pendal in January 2019 and is responsible for research and analysis to enhance and grow Pendal’s diversified funds. Rita began her career in the investment industry after graduating from University in 2016.
Prior to joining Pendal, Rita worked at First State Super where she was an Investment Analyst in the Investment Strategy team with responsibility for First State Super’s active asset allocation processes, encompassing a strong focus on both tactical and dynamic asset allocation. Her work also involved the development and implementation of investment ideas for First State Super’s pre-mixed portfolios and financial market coverage.
Rita holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Liberal Studies) from the University of New South Wales and is currently undertaking studies in the CFA program.
