About Vimal

With the goal of building the most defensive line of funds in Australia, Vimal oversees A$22 billion invested across Income, Composite, Pure Alpha, Global and Australian Government strategies. Vimal is responsible for setting the strategy, processes and risk management for both the boutique and all funds managed within it.

Prior to Pendal Group, Vimal was responsible for sovereign global bond portfolios at Aviva Investors, where he was the lead fund manager for Global Aggregate Bond Funds. He has previously worked with Scottish Mutual and Murray Johnstone.

Graduating with First Class Honours, Vimal obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree (Economics and Computer Science) from Salford University.

About George

Managing a mix of credit, fixed interest and enhanced cash portfolios, George holds a wealth of experience in portfolio management and credit analysis with a specific focus on Asset Back Securities, Industrials, Real Estate and Resources sectors.

George has managed dedicated Sustainable fixed interest portfolios for a decade. He has also worked across numerous fixed income, credit and money market portfolios in portfolio management, credit analysis and dealing roles for over 20 years. Prior to this George worked in an accounting role for three years.

In 2019 George was awarded the Alpha Manager status by Money Management’s parent, FE fundinfo, in recognition of his career-long performance in the asset management industry. George was one out of 11 Australia-based investment professionals included in this list of esteemed professionals across multiple asset classes, after being assessed on his ability to create risk-adjusted alpha (outperformance) over his entire track record.

George obtained a Master’s degree in Business (Finance), a Bachelor’s degree in Business (Accounting & Finance) and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment. He has a Registered Representatives and Dealer Accreditation with the Australian Financial Markets Associations.

About Justin

Drawing on extensive global experience in fixed income markets, Justin works primarily on Australian issued fixed and floating credit.

In his previous roles with Challenger, he was a Portfolio Manager and Credit Analyst over both cash and credit portfolios. Justin has also held positions covering investment grade and high yield bonds across numerous sectors for Citigroup in New York, Standard & Poor’s Corporate Credit Ratings, and Ernst & Young in Chicago.

Justin received his MBA with high distinction from the University of Michigan and his Bachelor of Economics from Monash University. Justin is a Chartered Accountant.

About Oliver

Oliver works on developing and running key quantitative investment models, and acting as trading support for the Income & Fixed Interest team.

Prior to joining the team, Oliver spent three years in the Pendal Group (formerly BT Investment Management) Investment Products team. Oliver previously spent three years at Perpetual Investments where he worked closely with both the portfolio management and distribution teams, providing quantitative support, portfolio positioning and commentary to the business and clients.

Oliver received his Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) from the University of Sydney and is also a CFA Charterholder.

About Peter

With extensive industry experience, Peter focuses on the Government bond portfolios and the Monthly Income Plus Fund, further contributing macro and economic issue analysis across our range of fixed income funds.

Peter joined the funds management business of BT Financial Group, now Pendal Group, in 2003 and has worked within our Performance and Attribution and Exposure Management divisions. 

Peter received his Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) and Bachelor of Science (Mathematics) degrees from the University of New South Wales and his Master of Applied Finance from Macquarie University.

About Robin

Robin works on government and credit quantitative modelling for the Bond, Income & Defensive Strategies team. He provides quantitative and technical analysis for investment decision making across asset classes including fixed interest and foreign exchange markets. He also monitors risks and performance for the government portfolios. 

Prior to joining Pendal Group, Robin worked as a Performance Analyst at BNP Paribas. Robin holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance and International Business) and Master of Commerce (Funds Management) degrees from University of New South Wales. Robin is also a CFA Charterholder.

About Steve

With a background in cash and dealing, Steve brings over 20 years’ financial markets experience to our Institutional Managed Cash portfolio.

During his time at Pendal Group, Steve has managed numerous New Zealand cash portfolios and has been active in portfolio positioning while executing domestic and international credit and bond funds.

Steve previously worked at Tullett and Tokyo as a corporate bond broker, and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from the Australian National University.

About Tim

Tim joined Pendal Group in February 2017 with responsibility for managing Australian Bond portfolios. Tim has extensive experience in banking, financial markets and funding.

Tim joined Pendal Group from NSW Treasury Corporation (TCorp), where he was General Manager, Funding and Balance Sheet, with responsibility for defining and executing TCorp’s funding programme and strategy. Tim’s prior experience includes senior positions in Westpac Treasury, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Deutsche Bank, Bain & Co and Swiss Bank Corporation.

Tim holds a Masters of Economics of Development from the Australian National University and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of New South Wales.

About Amy

Amy joined Pendal Group in February 2017 to focus on emerging markets and global credit indices. Amy is a Multi-Asset Fixed Income Fund Manager with extensive experience and expertise in emerging markets, global high yield, and investment grade credit. 

Amy joined Pendal Group from F&C Asset Management in London where she managed the firm’s High Income Bond Fund. Her prior experience includes roles at Thames River Capital and Citigroup Global Markets. Amy holds an honours degree in Economics from Cambridge University.
